Born on the 12th December 1969 in England Madeleine Sophie Townley is better known to we readers as the author of the Shopaholic series of novels Sophie Kinsella. With twenty-five books published and a global following of loyal readers Sophie’s first novels were released under her married name of Madeleine Wickham and were an instant hit. Wanting to see if she would be as successful if the publishers and readers didn’t know who she was Madeleine submitted her first Shopaholic novel (in 2000) anonymously under the pseudonym of Kinsella and only revealed her true identity when Can You Keep a Secret? was published in December 2005.
