Gavin and Stacey’s Ruth Jones to Release Debut Novel

Ruth Jones is already an accomplished writer and screenwriter and has seen much success with shows such as Gavin and Stacey, which she not only wrote with James Corden but starred in as Nessa too.

If you haven’t watched Gavin and Stacey, it’s comic brilliance, set in Barry in South Wales, and now one of Wales’ biggest exports is to release her debut novel. Never Greener is out in the UK on 5th April and will be the actress and screenwriter’s first novel.

The writer has already shown that she is intuitively excellent at portraying relatable human nature and so we’re hoping this novel doesn’t disappoint.

Never Greener follows the story of Kate who when she was 22, had a passionate affair with a married man called Callum. She thought she’d never get over it when it ended in heartbreak. Now seventeen years later Kate has moved on, is a successful actress living in London and married with a child. Callum and his wife are also happy together in Edinburgh watching their kids grow up. It seems like the past is truly behind them.

Then Kate and Callum meet again.
