By February 15, 2020New Releases, News

Eoin Colfer is best known for his novel Artemis Fowl – a book series that ended up helping reluctant readers (especially boys) to pick up a book. the magical mix of fairies, toilet humour, and adventure brought more kids to the school library than ever before.

Colfer’s eight-book fantasy series topped book charts from 2001 bestseller charts in 2001, and was heralded as ‘the new Harry Potter’- a claim Colfer himself denied.

The eight-book series ended in 2012 but Colfer decided to return to the Fowl world with a new book series that will focus on Artemis’s young brothers, The Fowl Twins, Myles and Beckett. The books will follow the boys as they go on their own adventures alongside with a troll and a fairy.

Speaking to The Guardian, Colfer talks about the changing face of children’s literature, and the Disney adaptation of Artemis Fowl directed by Kenneth Branagh that will be released in 2020.
