A pastor from Tennessee in the USA pastor recently held a book burning targeting books he deemed to be occult materials.
He told his congregation to burn a range of different titles including the Harry Potter and Twilight series.
Greg Locke of the Global Vision Bible Church in the city of Mt Juliet hosted a book burning with his congregation who were asked to bring along copies of books in both the Harry Potter and Twilight series, as well as any other occult or alternative items such as crystals, tarot cards, ouija boards, and spell books.

“We have a Constitutional right and a Biblical right to do what we’re going to do tonight,” he said at the event.
“We have a burn permit, but even without one a church has a religious right to burn occultic materials that they deem are a threat to their religious rights and freedoms and belief system.”
The pastor has also been previously called the COVID-19 pandemic “fake” and warned against getting vaccinated.
The book burning comes along with the increase of banned books in US schools, with the latest being the non-fiction graphic novel Maus which depicts one family’s experience of the Holocaust, and the generational trauma that followed. The book was banned for ‘nudity and bad language’, because apparently naked mice are obscene.
Hundreds of other titles have also been removed from schools due to their content apparently making “students feel discomfort, guilt, anguish, or any other form of psychological distress because of their race or sex”.
