Through all the excitement when the Outlander adaptation first launched, many people were left disappointed as it was only available on premium channel Starz and not everyone could watch it. However, if you were one of those people then get excited as on 27th May the series hits Netflix!
The hugely popular series, based on the books by Diana Gabaldon has been thrilling viewers since it began but not everyone could watch the series. Outlander stars Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan and if you’re a Netflix subscriber then you don’t have long to wait to be able to watch the show!
Netflix made the announcement via this fairly cringey, very sexist tweet. Unsurprisingly many people called ‘YIKES’ on the tweet but we’ll let that pass for now and just concentrate on how excited you might be for the actual show.

In the unlikely event that you’ve completely missed the hype around the books and the show then you might be wondering what all this is about. Let us summarise:
Outlander is a historical, time travelling, romantic, dramatic, science fiction series by Diana Gabaldon…
Yes, it really does fit into all those genres!
Shortly after the end of the Second World War, British army nurse Claire Randall goes on a second honeymoon with her husband, Frank in Scotland. Out on a walk alone, Claire discovers a formation of rocks and can hear a strange buzzing sound. She touches one of the rocks, faints and wakes up in 1743. Here she meets Frank’s brutal ancestor and the young, dashing Jamie Fraser.
The series drops on Netflix on May 27th and season one and two will be available for viewers. If you haven’t already read the books, the link to the first one is below!
