Fans of the movie Matilda, which is based on the Roald Dahl story of the same name, will be interested to learn that a family in the UK are looking to hire a real life Miss Honey to help tutor their shy daughter who loves the 1996 film. The applicant who gets the job will receive the impressive hourly wage of £60 ($73) an hour.
Applicants aren’t just mean’t to merely emulate the character of Miss Honey, they need to look the part as well. The advert asks for application from those who bear a “likeness” to actress Embeth Davidtz, who played the role in the film. The ad goes on to read: “if the tutor can copy her hairstyle as well that would be great, the soft shoulder length style which flicks out at the end.”
The advert was posted on Tudor House and states that the job is as much about acting as it is about tutoring, and whoever gets the job must be able to stay in character at all times. You will also need at least three years experience at teaching maths.
The job is for an hour’s lesson every week and the parents would like any potential Miss Honeys to do a trial lesson first. If you think you’d be perfect for the job then you can apply HERE.
