We fondly remember getting a free book in our cereal boxes as children so we were happy to see that Penguin Random House are continuing this tradition in America. Kellogg’s® in collaboration with Penguin Random House have renewed their ‘Feeding Reading’ programme for another year, offering free children’s books with each box of cereal.
In 2018, Kellogg’s® partnered with publishers Scholastic to power the Feeding Reading programme which saw more than 400,000 books distributed to families and children in the United States. This year, Kellogg’s® aim to do even better. On the Feeding Reading website they state: “Kellogg’s® and our family of brands are committed to helping kids thrive. That’s why this year, we are getting more books in more hands, one box at a time. In doing so, we hope to build kids’ reading confidence and help get them fueled for a great start to every school day.”
The promotion which activated in July in time for summer reading and finishes in September in time for the back-to-school cycle aims to get children reading more. Each participant can redeem 10 children’s books from a list of 125 titles which represent a range of reading levels.
To receive your free books all you need to do is purchase Kellogg’s®, Keebler®, Pringle’s® or Cheez-It® participating products between now and September 30th. Take a photo of your receipt and log in/register on the Feeding Reading website to upload the image. Once you’ve done that, you will receive credit to redeem against a book of your choice from the list of 125 titles.
Participants can either add up to 10 books to their own family’s library or donate them to a school or library of their choice. To donate, just select “Donate your Book” to begin the process. You will then be promoted to nominate your local library or school of choice. The books will then be shipped directly to them with a note saying they were generously donated by you (with your last name only as an identifier).
To participate, you must be a legal resident of the fifty United States and/or the District of Columbia. You must be 13 years of age or older, so ask a parent to help if you’re younger. All credits must be redeemed by December 12th 2019 to receive free books. So, what are you waiting for? Feed their bodies and their mind with Kellogg’s® and Penguin Random House this year!
In a statement, Kellogg’s® director of promotions, Zion Doren said: “Reading builds hearts, minds and memories … More opportunities to read during childhood can lead to more opportunities throughout life.”
