Stephen King is one of the most prolific writers in the business and is arguably in a league of his own when it comes to the horror genre. King has given us a plethora of creepy tales from Misery to The Shining. Pet Sematary is a particularly grisly tale and has become a must-read for King fans. It was announced that a film adaptation of the book is in the works and it looks like it will hit theatres sooner rather than later.

The film was originally slated to be released on April 19, 2019 but it has been reported by Bloody Disgusting that Paramount has bumped the film up to an April 5 release date. The film is being written and directed by Dennis Widmyer and Kevin Kolsch and Jason Clarke has been cast as Louis Creed.

Last year saw the release of a film adaptation of It, which received a great response from critics. The second half is also set to be released next year and will see the kids in the first film return as adults. It certainly looks like 2019 will be a good year for fans of Stephen King!
