The Bestselling Books of the Last One Hundred Years: 2016

We started at 1918, bringing you the bestselling books of the last one hundred years, and we’re now into the period since we launched For Reading Addicts. Today we’re featuring the bestselling books of 2016 as we run down the final few blogs in this series.

In 2016 we lost legends Alan Rickman, David Bowie, Muhammed Ali, Leonard Cohen, and George Michael in what was a catastrophic year for celebrity deaths. Harambe the gorilla became a popular meme, and the term alt-right jumped into existence.

Among all that there were plenty of books published too. So here they are, the top selling books of 2016, and there wasn’t even ten notable books!

We’re also featuring some well known books that didn’t make the cut!

Also released in 2016 was, The Power, by Naomi Alderman and the award winning Underground Railroad by Colson Whitehead.
