On 29th October this year, The Beautiful Ones will be published, a memoir from Prince, the singer who died in 2016. The memoir will feature never seen photographs and has been arranged in an exclusive partnership with the late singer’s estate.
The basis for The Beautiful Ones was originally acquired from Prince before his death in 2016 and will feature original scrapbooks, and lyric sheets written in the singer’s own hand plus the early pages of the memoir that Prince had began writing before his death on 21st April 2016. The introduction will be written by Dan Piepenbring, who Prince personally chose to collaborate on the project.
The memoir is fully endorsed and will be released in an “exclusive partnership and in collaboration with the Prince Estate” according to the publisher. The memoir promises a deeply personal account of how Prince Rogers Nelson became the Prince we all know, as he absorbed the world around him and created a persona, artistic vision and life before he became famous. The book will cover his childhood, early years as a musician and his launch into international stardom and will use Prince’s own words, scrapbooks of his personal photos, and original handwritten lyric sheets from his home at Paisley Park.
Prince is a beloved figure in global culture and his music, the soundtrack of a generation of people. This memoir is promised to be a beautiful tribute to his life and we’re expecting it to be one of the biggest nonfiction sellers of the last quarter of 2019. The Beautiful Ones will be published on 29th October and is available for pre-order now.
