Rudyard Kipling (30 December 1865 – 18 January 1936) and years after his life, we’re not sure a better poem has ever been written. ‘If’ is by far one of the most well known pieces of poetry in the world, but just how well do you know it?
Kipling wrote “If” in 1895 and it first appeared in Rewards and Fairies, 1910. The poem is a tribute to Leander Starr Jameson and is written in the form of paternal advice to the poet’s son, John.
We don’t think there’s a person out there who can’t quote at least a couple of lines of it, but can you order the entire poem? Try here!
