Roald and Beatrix: The Tail of the Curious Mouse was shown over the Christmas period, and if you missed it here is where you can catch it.
Originally on Sky TV on Christmas eve, the star-studded comedy-drama is still available to stream online.
The film stars Dawn French as Beatrix Potter with eight-year-old Harry Tayler playing a young Roald Dahl, in this fictional depiction of their real-life meeting.
Roald and Beatrix: The Tail of the Curious Mouse shows a young and lonely Roald Dahl, who is desperate to meet his favourite author – Beatrix Potter.
The heartwarming film shows how the meeting inspired a Dahl to write his own magical children’s stories.
The six-year-old Roald Dahl seeks out Potter after having his sister and his father die, leaving him bereft. At the same time Roald is struggling, Beatrix Potter is coming to terms with her failing eyesight and lack of passion for her art.
Joining Dawn French and Harry Taylor is a great ensemble cast featuring Jessica Hynes as Sofie Dahl, Rob Brydon as Potter’s husband William Heelis, Nina Sosanya as publisher Anne Landy, Nick Mohammed as optometrist Mr Entwistle, and Bill Bailey as the eccentric Bona Fide Gent.
The film is still available on Sky TV catch up service (those outside the UK may have to access it using a VPN), and on NOWTV.
