Fans of J.R.R Tolkien’s fantasy world of Middle-Earth will no doubt be aware that Amazon is currently working on an upcoming TV adaptation of The Lord of the Rings, which will air on its streaming service Amazon Prime. While we still don’t know a great deal about what to expect from the show, it has been revealed that actor Will Poulter will star as one of the leads.

This isn’t the first time the actor has appeared in an adaption of a beloved fantasy series, he played the role of Eustace Scrubb in the 2010 film The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. He has since appeared in a number of hit films and TV shows including The Revenant, Black Mirror, and Midsommar.
As Variety reports, Poulter will now be starring in the hotly anticipated adaptation from Amazon, though the details of his character and story are being kept tightly under wraps. While we still don’t know a great deal about the show, we do know that it will be set long before the events of the War of the Ring and it has been hinted at that it will take place during the Second Age, when the Ring of Power was originally made. We look forward to learning more about the show and hope it lives up to the quality of the books.
