Chad (noun)

ch-ad

A piece of waste material removed from card or tape by punching.

I love that absolutely everything has a name, I always just called these holes, as in doughnut holes but now I know better.

Example sentences

“I save all the Angel chads I produce at Christmas and sell them as wedding table confetti.”

“If you collect up your chads they can be used as fake snow when decorating the house.”

    I would think most people in the U.S. born in 1992 or earlier who watch or read the news know about chads: reference the 2000 presidential election!
