Wittol (noun)
wit-uhl
A man who is aware and tolerant of his wife’s infidelity; an acquiescent cuckold.
Wittol’s archaic definition has evolved to now encompass not only cuckolds but also those husbands who actually encourage their wives to engage in coitus with other men and derive pleasure from that fact.
Example sentences
“Oh she’s well known around here, her husband is a proper wittol and everyone takes advantage of it.”
“I understand that he is aware of and in fact quite proud of his status as a wittol.”
