Word of the Day – Cacoethes

By October 16, 2015Word of the Day

Cacoethes (n)

kak-oh-ee-th(soft)-eez

An urge to do something inadvisable.

I have this currently, it has something to do with Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook’s new algorithms and a (perhaps) libellous poem.

Example sentences

“Whenever I am near to the edge of anything high I have this cacoethes, usually involving jumping.”

“Cacoethes? Stuffing my face with an entire chocolate gateau in one sitting is not inadvisable!”
