A person who displays aggressive or exaggerated patriotism. Also, someone who shows excess prejudice in their own cause.
Nothing at all to do with misogyny unless pre-faced by ‘Male’. Named after French solider Nicolas Chauvin, who continued to fight in the Napoleonic War despite being very injured.
