A person who has returned, especially supposedly from the dead.

One who has returned after a prolonged absence, resulting in their being presumed dead.

    Les Revenants was a really good french TV series abotu zombies recently shown on channel 4. Every time I heard the Oscar nominated film The Revenant mentioned I thought this was what they meant.
