Tolkien explores the early years of the famous author’s life as he finds his own fellowship among his peers at school. Friendship and courage grows among his fellow creative lads at school. This brotherhood grows as they withstand love and loss until the outbreak of the First World War which threatens to tear their fellowship apart. These formative experiences would later inspire Tolkien to create the stories that became The Hobbit, and The Lord of the Rings trilogy.

Written by David Gleeson and Stephen Beresford, and directed by Dome Karukoski with an all-star cast of Nicholas Hoult, Lily Collins, Colm Meaney, Anthony Boyle, Patrick Gibson, Tom Glynn-Carney, Craig Roberts, Laura Donnelly, Genevieve O’Reilly, Pam Ferris and Derek Jacobi

The movie is officially released May 10th 2019.
