Harry Potter Books to be made into new TV series

It’s announced today that the Harry Potter series is to be made into a new television series with a brand new cast. It’s said that series author, JK Rowling and her agent Neil Blair will be executive producers for the series. A long term project, this series will be produced over the course of a decade, and each season will be based on one of the seven books, which is likely to be music to the ears of those who believed the movies left a lot out!

The news was announced today in a press release from Warner Bros Discovery who said “The series will feature a new cast to lead a new generation of fandom, full of the fantastic detail, much loved characters and dramatic locations that Harry Potter fans have loved for over 25 years. Each season will be authentic to the original books and bring Harry Potter and these incredible adventures to new audiences around the world, while the original, classic and beloved films will remain at the core of the franchise and available to watch globally.”

To this Rowling also had a response, stating “Max’s commitment to preserving the integrity of my books is important to me, and I’m looking forward to being part of this new adaptation which will allow for a degree of depth and detail only afforded by a long-form television series.”

Despite much controversy surrounding Rowling in recent times, and many people claiming her cancellation, it seems that the voracious desire for her work continues, and big brands like Warner Bros are happy to continue working with the author. No doubt fans will be thrilled by the news, but we’re sure there’ll be plenty of negativity too.
