So Mr George R.R. Martin, you’re going to make us wait a while longer before we can discover the fate of the remaining (few) characters that inhabit your wonderful epic, A Song of Ice and Fire.
That’s fine, we can wait but, thanks to forreadingaddicts fans, we’ve found something to keep us entertained in the mean time.

Top of our poll is the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon. With eight novels and myriad novellas etc, these will keep you entertained for a wee while.
The Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan came within 1 vote of being joint top. Another huge series, this is sure to keep you occupied for a long time to come.

Third and my choice for this poll, is Robin Hobb’s Farseer Trilogy; the writing is beautiful and we get to follow our protagonists in other works which is always a bonus.
Stephen King’s fantasy saga The Dark Tower is next, Roland of Gilead’s journey to the centre of all the worlds is a truly fantastic tale told in typical King fashion.

The Kingkiller Chronicle by Patrick Rothfuss is fifth. A trilogy featuring Kvothe, a famous musician and adventurer, this was a favourite for many of you.
Sixth and worth inclusion through their title alone are The Gentleman Bastard Books.
The Gentleman Bastard Books US
The Gentleman Bastard Books UK

Terry Goodkind’s Sword of Truth saga is 7th..
.. and 8th is Robin Hobb’s Liveship Traders Trilogy

Brent Weeks’ Night Angel Trilogy is our penultimate pick..
.. And your final choice for this poll was Sarah J. Maas’ Throne of Glass saga.

I’m sure there’s plenty there to keep us all busy until the surviving cast of George’s Epic are dusted off and brought out to play again. But if not, we can always re-read the ones we have already.
