We asked you on our Facebook page what books you would recommend to a friend who had enjoyed the Fifty Shades of Grey Trilogy. Judging by the majority of the responses I can only say I’m thankful I’m not the friend asking!
Fortunately, in amongst all of the negativity some of you remembered to recommend a book.

Top of the pile was Anne Rice’s Sleeping Beauty Trilogy. Beautifully written with plenty of erotica was the consensus.
Tongue in cheek or a genuine interest in a friend’s eternal soul? Either way, The Bible comes in at number two.

The Crossfire Trilogy from Sylvia Day is third on our list; recommended as being well written erotica.
In fourth place was The Story of O; a fabled tale of BDSM relationships and more realistic if a little dated.

Black Dagger Brotherhood was your next choice; Vampires, dark romance with tons of chills and thrills and plenty of books in the series to keep you entertained.
Black Dagger Brotherhood #1 US
Black Dagger Brotherhood #1 UK
Stephanie Meyer’s Twilight is a recommendation that 24 of you would make to a friend who loved 50 Shades.

Screw The Roses, Send Me The Thorns is a non fiction How To guide for those who want to know what really happens within a BDSM relationship.
Laurell K Hamilton’s Vampire hunter Anita Blake was also a popular choice amongst those who enjoyed a little naughtiness in their literature.

Maya Banks’ Breathless Trilogy is our penultimate choice for those who loved Christian Grey.
Our final recommendation is Gone Girl. Is this you warning your friends what may become of them should they find their own Mr Grey?

The next five books, in the order of nomination are:
Mayfair Witches~Anne Rice
Meredith Gentry Series~Laurell K Hamilton
Atlantis Series~Gena Showalter
Lady Chatterley’s Lover~D.H Lawrence
and
Masters of Shadowlands Series~Cherise Sinclair
No matter what your personal thoughts on the Fifty Shades of Grey Trilogy, it sold an awful lot of copies and entertained an awful lot of people.
