10 Literary Characters You’d Put in the Hunger Games

By February 20, 2016August 9th, 2018Discussion and Recommendations

Just for fun we asked last week for the literary characters you’d like to see in the Hunger Games. When we asked the question we were thinking of characters you didn’t like (I voted for Professor Umbridge), but your replies were wide and varied. While some characters were nominated by you because you disliked them, others you wanted in for the entertainment factor.

Here are your top ten, taken from all your votes.

Dolores Umbridge

from the Harry Potter Series

Many of you thought like me, that Dolores deserved nothing more than to be thrown into the games and she was the outright winner for this poll.

Captain Jack Randall

from the Outlander series

Several of you wanted to put Captain Jack Randall in the Hunger Games, not because you fancied his chances but because you were hoping he wouldn’t last the first day.

Holden Caulfield

from Catcher in the Rye

Another dislikeable character, Holden may have been my second choice and I don’t think his whiny ass would last too long either.

Catherine and Heathcliffe

from Wuthering Heights

With an equal number of votes and so taking fourth and fifth place is the simpering double act from Wuthering Heights.

Primrose Everdeen

from The Hunger Games

Harsh!

Svengali

from Trilby

Ah yes, I wouldn’t mind seeing him get it in the arena. Svengali is a baddy so bad he coined a whole new word.
