Norman Mailer was born on the 31st of January 1923 and died on the 10th of November in 2007. Mailer was an American novelist, essayist, journalist, playwright, actor, film-maker, and political activist. He is perhaps best known for his novel The Naked and the Dead which was published in 1948 and The Executioner’s Song (1979) for which he won the Pulitzer Prize for fiction.
His work has seen him win book prizes and renown in literary circles, and has given us many excellent quotes.
