Don’t you just love the end of the year? All the Christmas book releases, and all the announcements of what adaptations are coming for the following year. If you were a big fan of Lauren Oliver’s YA novel Before I Fall then we have some great news for you today as the book is going to movie in 2017!
Before I Fall tells the story of a teenager who dies in an accident, a familiar trope but the twist here is that she is forced to relive the last day of her life over and over. It’s a clever little novel about growing up and learning from mistakes, and the adaptation looks like it’s right on the money!
Maria Maggenti wrote the script for Before I Fall, and the movie and stars Zoey Deutch in the star role of Sam Kingston. It’s set to premier at the Sundance Film Festival on January 21st so there’s not too long to wait, although us mere mortals will have to wait until March 3rd.
While that might seem like a long wait to fans of the book, it is great news for those who haven’t yet read it, as you have long enough to experience the book before you watch the movie!
