Being an author is a challenging job at the best of times. Up and coming authors have some of the lowest median wages in the world, and then come the challenges of being an author, and being a woman!
For as long as writing has existed, woman authors have had issues with visibility. For hundreds of years women wrote under male pseudonyms, and even today authors are often told to go by their initials so boys don’t realise they are female authors.
