There cannot be many readers who have not heard the name J.K Rowling; author of the world record breaking series of Harry Potter novels she first came up with the idea of the boy wizard whilst on a train from Manchester to London. Seven years and several tough life events later Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone was published June 1997 and the rest as they say is history.

Continuing her successful career in writing under the pseudonym of Robert Galbraith J.K has become one of the most widely known authors of modern times and her books are filled with wonderful quotes; here we have put together 10 of our favourite Spellbinding Quotes from J.K Rowling.

“If you want to know what a man’s like, take a good look at how he treats his inferiors, not his equals.”

“It does not do to dwell on dreams and forget to live.”

“It takes a great deal of bravery to stand up to our enemies, but just as much to stand up to our friends.”

“It matters not what someone is born, but what they grow to be.”

“We do not need magic to transform our world. We carry all of the power we need inside ourselves already. We have the power to imagine better.”

“Numbing the pain for a while will make it worse when you finally feel it.”

“I don’t believe in the kind of magic in my books. But I do believe something very magical can happen when you read a good book.”

“Understanding is the first step to acceptance, and only with acceptance can there be recovery.”

“There’s always room for a story that can transport people to another place.”

“Don’t let the muggles get you down.”

And there is just a little snippet of the writing that has made J.K Rowling a literary legend in her own time. If you’ve not read anything by her, why not give one of her books a try, if not Harry then perhaps one of her Cormoran Strike novels, you never know, they hype may be well deserved.
