My favourite thing about our book discussion group The Cwts at Reading Addicts is when someone posts a seemingly straightforward question that then blossoms into a great discussion, with everyone getting involved.
This happened yesterday when one of our new members posted this,
At the moment the thread is up to nearly 100 comments and not surprisingly there are several books that are mentioned more than once.
These are the top ten most mentioned in no particular order: (I’ve chosen to ignore the most commonly mentioned book, I’m sure the majority of you can guess the one!)
If those aren’t enough to have you nodding in agreement or shaking your head in disbelief here are a few more that were mentioned more than once:
The Book Thief – Markus Zusak
The Bridges of Madison County – Robert James Waller
Small Great Things – Jodi Picoult
The Da Vinci Code – Dan Brown
Catcher in the Rye – J.D. Salinger
Gone Girl – Gillian Flynn
We Need to Talk About Kevin – Lionel Shriver
Catch 22 – Joseph Heller
Slaughterhouse-Five – Kurt Vonnegut
1984 – George Orwell
I’m sure that there’s at least one book on that list that you dislike and lots more you’d add to the list?

I detested We Have to Talk About Kevin, and it was the only book I had with me on vacation!
I LOVED The Great Gatsby, The Twilight and Harry Potter.
To add to the list, Red badge of courage, and American Gods.
