Check out These 10 Awesome Game of Thrones Tattoos While You Wait for the New Season

Season seven of Game of Thrones is right around the corner and we can’t believe we still have to wait a few days before we can finally catch up with Tyrion, Daenerys, Jon Snow, and the gang. With the end of the show in sight, it looks like this season will be even more epic than ever and we just can’t wait until Sunday! To help make the wait more bearable, check out these ten awesome Game of Thrones-themed tattoos.

Winter is Coming

This may be one of the more subtle tattoos but it will no doubt be familiar to all you Stark supporters out there. The tattoo shows the Stark family seat of Winterfell along with their iconic motto: ‘Winter is Coming’. One way or another, the Starks are always right.

Game of Thrones Meets Disney

Game of Thrones is one of the most adult shows on television and there have been moments that make even the most hardcore viewers feel a little queasy. It’s hardly the kind of fantasy you’d want your kids to be watching. Despite this, there’s something very charming about this tattoo which shows what Daenerys and her dragons might look like were Game of Thrones to be set in the Disney universe. We assume there wouldn’t be nearly as much sex or murder.

Jon Snow

Game of Thrones is known for its great writing, interesting characters, and beautiful set pieces, but lets be honest, there’s also plenty of eye candy for both male and female viewers. Actor Kit Harrington has become somewhat of a sex symbol for his portrayal of Jon Snow and with this tattoo you can have his brooding face with you wherever you go. On a more serious note, this tattoo shows just how great some tattoo artists are at their craft and the piece looks like it’s about to move. We hope the artist got a serious tip.

The Three-Eyed Raven

After being crippled in season one, Bran Stark begins to have mysterious visions of a three-eyed raven that appears to be trying to send him some sort of message. We don’t want to spoil anything for those who aren’t up to date (what are you waiting for?), but this strange raven turns out to be very important to the overall plot and has become a symbol for the series.

You Know Nothing

The world of Game of Thrones is full of hurt and loss. Most people die horribly and even things like true love are hard to find in this gritty fantasy world. One of the few romances in the series that wasn’t really weird in one way or another (looking at you, Jaime and Cersei!) was the romance between Ygritte and Jon Snow. They may have been on opposite sides but that wasn’t enough to prevent their love from flourishing. This tattoo is a reminder that, if even for just a few moments, love can bloom even in Westeros.

Fear Cuts Deeper than Swords

The famed swordsman Syrio Forel taught the young Arya Stark this motto when she began sword training with him and it’s a motto that has served the young Stark girl well. Arya has fund herself in many dangerous situations but this philosophy allows her to keep her wits about her. Not only is it a great line in the context of the books and show but it’s also worth keeping in mind next time you’re about to have a job interview.

Dracarys

Dracarys is the High Valerian word for Dragonfire and is said by Dany to encourage her dragons to start reigning down fire upon her enemies. Dany’s journey has been a long one and she has come a long way from being a helpless young girl in season one to the conquering queen she has now become. It’s not hard to see why she is such a favourite among viewers and readers and we look forward to seeing her and her dragons kicking ass in the new season.

Iron Throne

The Iron Throne is arguably the most iconic set piece in Game of Thrones and it’s not hard to see why. Forged from hundreds of swords, the throne represents power and the blood that is spilled in its name. Regardless of which house you support, the Iron Throne is the ultimate goal.

Cute Jon Snow

The last Jon Snow tattoo may have been more realistic, but this one is just so cute! This and the Disney-themed one makes us want to see a kids version of the show where all the characters overcome their issues through the power of friendship.
