Recently we brought you the news that Murder on the Orient Express was to get a new, big budget adaptation with Kenneth Branagh sporting a rather large moustache. The movie is now out, and has been met with very good reviews from the general public. The readers have given the whole thing a far more mixed opinion, with some even feeling that Ms Christie, the original author might be turning in her grave.
Whatever you think about the adaptation, it’s done brilliantly at cinemas grossing $148.2 million worldwide since its release, so much so that Death on the Nile is already in the works as a sequel to the first adaptation!
Kenneth Branagh is bringing Poirot back, tache and all for a new development form Twentieth Century Fox, Michael Green will return as screenwriter and while we may have a while to wait for any other news and trailers, this is definitely confirmed and happening!
If you haven’t seen Branagh as Poirot, you can watch the trailer for Murder on the Orient Express below. The saddest thing about this successful franchise is that a whole generation will have no idea what a short, pompous man with a small neat moustache Poirot is supposed to be!
