For Reading Addicts Reading Challenge 2022 – April

Well hello April. Here in the UK, the clocks have gone forward, the nights are lighter and the sun has been shining, all great excuses for more reading.

Once again this year we have decided on an inclusive challenge with the three options, Easy, Hard and Super Reader but this year’s monthly category will be “Read Through the Decades” and the alphabetical part will be by author’s name. Hopefully, this will mean that everyone can join in, whether you read one book a month or three or more!

April’s categories are:-

EASY – ALPHABETICAL CHALLENGE

Read a book by an author whose name begins with a D or a P.

Here are just a few suggestions for each letter, obviously, there are lots more:

Charles Dickens, Roald Dahl, Juno Dawson, Anthony Doerr, Emma Donoghue, Christine Dalcher, Len Deighton, Roddy Doyle.

Dorothy Parker, Ann Patchett, Tony Parsons, Sarah Perry, Jodi Picoult, Terry Pratchett, Natasha Pulley, Edgar Allen Poe.

HARD – MONTHLY CATEGORY CHALLENGE

Read a book published between 1930 and 1939.

Brave New World – Aldous Huxley

The Good Earth – Pearl S. Buck

Their Eyes Were Watching God – Zora Neale Hurston

Down and Out in Paris and London – George Orwell

SUPER READER – READ HARDER CHALLENGE

Read a book by an author whose name begins with a D or a P (or both) and read a book published between 1930 and 1939.

As in all our previous challenges, pick a book from our list, pop along to your local book shop or library, order something online or pick up something that’s already in your TBR pile.
