Harper Lee was known for being fiercely private and as such very little is known about the author, outside her seminal work. It was in fact the attention that came from To Kill a Mockingbird that made her decide never to write another novel, and it’s well known how averse to media attention she was.
It’s that that makes this only recorded interview from Harper Lee all the more fascinating. In this 10 minute audio interview she talks of To Kill a Mockingbird, writing, and her own life in what might be one of the only insights into the author’s life.
Thanks to June for originally posting this in our reading group, and here I share it with all of you.
