It’s announced this week that The Feed, a brand new sci-fi novel by Nick Clark Windo, is to be adapted into a high-end drama by Amazon and Virgin Media, who have won the rights to the adaptation.
The Feed is Windo’s debut novel, and unusually it’s only just been released as a book. The post-apocalyptic novel was released in the UK on 25th January but isn’t due for USA release until March this year. Early reviews are positive, and positive enough for Amazon and Virgin Media to put their money where their proverbial mouths are, putting into production a 10-part drama set in London.
According to Deadline magazine, the 10-part drama will be adapted for screen by The Walking Dead executive producer Channing Powell and British producer Studio Lambert. When aired, Amazon will hold the rights to the show for the Prime Service, and we’ll bring you more details of that when the show is in production.
It’s very early for the news of the adaptation with the novel barely on the shelves, but the post-apocalyptic, dystopian novel explores what it is to be human and what it is to be connected in a digital age, capturing the zeitgeist of today. Described as Walking Dead meets Black Mirror, we think it’s likely to be huge when it releases, and thankfully that is a while away yet so if you want to read the novel before this hits the screens, it’s time to do so!
