I like many fellow bibliophiles am an awful person to go and see the screen adaptation of any book I have read and enjoyed to the point that my family will halt any comment I begin to make when watching a film and finish it with “They didn’t do that in the book!”. Well, they didn’t. It’s not my fault if directors and screenwriters insist on messing about with characters, plot lines and the like is it?
