Literary Quotes of Strength and Courage

By September 10, 2016Quotations

Very often we readers can be in the middle of a story when a character’s situation or emotional state will resonate with us in a way that non readers will never understand. There are many times we may be feeling isolated and alone, yet when we pick up a book, we read of others experiencing exactly the same traumas that we are and we don’t feel quite so alone.

It has long been known that readers have a greater capacity for empathy than those who do not read and  it is thought this is because we get to experience situations alongside the characters we read and we gain an understanding of what others may be going through even if we have not suffered the same problems as they have and these quotes of strength and courage from some of our favourite authors are a perfect example as to why reading is a very healthy hobby.

Joel Osteen
