We started at 1918, bringing you the bestselling books of the last one hundred years. We’re moving along now, covering each year at a time and already up to the 1940s where today we take a look at the bestselling books of 1943.
In 1943 the war continued to rage on, one of the bloodiest battles of the entire war was fought as the Battle of Leningrad raged through January, the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising takes place, and many of the great atrocities of the Holocaust took place.
Among all that, books were still published and read and today we’re featuring the bestselling novels of 1943, and some that didn’t make the list
1943 also saw the release of Antoine de Saint-Exupery’s, The Little Prince, and The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand.
We’ll continue this series right through to 2018, keep an eye out for 1944, coming soon!
