We started at 1918, bringing you the bestselling books of the last one hundred years. We’re moving along now and we’re starting to get close to what will be the end of this blog series as today we feature 2005.
In 2005, Bob Geldof gave us a revival of Live Aid with ten concerts to mark the anniversary of the original event. In the US tragedy struck as Hurricane Katrina struck Louisiana, Mississipi and Alabama. An earthquake in Southern Iran killed more than 1,000 people, while one in Kashmir killed more than 70,000.
Among all that there were plenty of books published too. So here they are, the ten top selling books of 2005. We’re also featuring some well known books that didn’t make the cut!
2005 also saw the release of Kazuo Ishiguro’s Never Let Me Go, and Haruki Murikami’s, Kafka on the Shore.
We’ll continue this series right through to 2018, keep an eye out for 2006, coming soon!
