We started at 1918, bringing you the bestselling books of the last one hundred years. We’ve had a bit of a pause, so sorry about that, I guess the pandemic is likely to appear on a blog like this in the future when we discuss the books of 2020. However, for now, we’re at 2011 so not long to go and here we have that year’s bestsellers.
2011 was a big year for news from the Arab Spring to the death of Osama Bin Laden, the Fukishima earthquake, Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding, Norway massacre, and many, many other major events.
Among all that there were plenty of books published too. So here they are, the ten top selling books of 2011. We’re also featuring some well known books that didn’t make the cut!
The Help – Kathryn Stockett
Movie tie in cover
Cutting for Stone – Abraham Verghese
And as many of those tipped over from the following year, we can assume 2011 was not a great year for books!
We’ll continue this series right through to 2018, keep an eye out for 2012, coming soon!
