I picked up The Hundred Year Old Man Who Climbed Out Of a Window and Disappeared on a whim, based solely on the title and was not disappointed. Jonas Jonasson’s fantastic, whimsical and wonderful tale of the centenarian belongs in the historical fiction category and fast became one of my favourite reads.
It’s hard to believe a one hundred year old man can have such adventures, and between the adventures he was having and the adventures we heard from his past made for exciting reading. The original novel was released back in 2009 and now Allan Karlsson is back for more adventures and you can read about them right now.
It all begins with a hot air balloon trip and three bottles of champagne and what follows is another hilarious, witty and thoroughly entertaining novel from Jonasson.
The original book did so well it was even adapted into a movie, here’s hoping the sequel is just as good!
