Are you one of the fashionista readers? Do you just have to have the latest must read on your shelves, or are you a browser who just grabs what looks interesting and damn the statistics?
Whichever you are, you will more than likely have read at least one of 2014’s best selling titles. Check out the top ten (printed) sales of 2014 according to Nielson Bookscan.

The Fault in Our Stars: Selling more than 1.8 million copies, John Green’s YA novel of love found in the bleakest of times tops our list of best sellers in 2014.
In second place is the 9th Diary of a Wimpy Kid by Jeff Kinney. The Long Haul sold over 1.5 million copies, which, as it only released on November 4th, is a pretty impressive amount in a very short period.

3rd, 4th and 6th places go to the 3 installments of the Divergent trilogy with Divergent selling 1.4 million, Insurgent, 1.3 million and Allegiant 1.2 million copies respectively.
5th place goes to the only title aimed at adult readers. Killing Patton, the fourth book in Bill O’Reilly and Martin Dugard’s Killing series was the only adult title to sell more than one million copies in 2014 with a total of 1.19 million copies being sold.

…and 7th? Actually a 2012 release but with the big budget film of the same name being released, Gillian Flynn’s Gone Girl had a resurgence
8th and 9th are a repeat of the number one bestseller with the Movie tie in and a hardcover special selling 923,182 and 769,065 copies respectively.
