We conclude our Halloween Poll series with those most dreaded beings, Zombies! With The Walking Dead being so popular, Zombie fiction has experienced somewhat of a resurgence in recent years and there is plenty of choice available.
We asked our Facebook followers which was their favourite and this is what they chose.

Warm Bodies was our outright winner; a new take on the Zombie fiction genre, this novel surprised me with the humanity of the Zombie protagonist. (there’s also a prequel I never knew about, A New Hunger)

Running a very close second is The Girl With all the Gifts. A haunting and heartbreaking novel about Melanie, the girl who promises she won’t bite.

Third place goes to Pride and Prejudice and Zombies; a mix of Jane Austen’s original text and ‘all new scenes of bone crushing zombie fiction’. Sounds like a match made in Heaven.

World War Z, I made the fatal mistake of attempting to watch the film and loathed it. With such high accolades from all of you though, I think I may give the book a go.

I want Love & Decay by Rachel Higginson (ya) on this list.

Released originally as Episodes, Omnibus available now, it’s quirky and thrilling! Oh the geatness of Rachel Higginson!

I highly recommend the White Trash Zombie series by Diana Rowland. The first is “My Life as a White Trash Zombie”. Super funny. A different type of zombie book, not the usual doom and gloom. Heartfelt, realistic characters and exciting storyline. And I highly recommend the audible version if possible.
