The Raven Café in Port Huron, Michigan isn’t just any old coffee house. Named after Edgar Allen Poe’s most famous creation, this gothic themed coffee house is a little Poe, a little Harry Potter, and a lot magical!
As you walk in it’s the type of place you read about in a really cool novel where cigarettes are still sexy and everyone drinks strong coffee. In their own words, The Raven Café is part Hogwarts, part Cheers and the intended sensation is that you are indeed walking into a story.
The café is decorated with beautiful woodwork and is packed with books, posters and artwork giving an energetic atmosphere that is a treat to all the senses.
While the place is named after Poe’s The Raven (who was actually Dickens’ pet raven, Grip), it isn’t too heavy on the literary theme, offering an eclectic atmosphere that is part library, part coffee house, part stunning observatory as you overlook the river, and very much a great place for lunch with a bustling atmosphere whatever time of the day you visit.
You can find The Raven at 932 Military Street, Port Huron, MI and if you’d like more info, check out their website!
