Top of the poll pile for the Trilogy that’s worth persevering with is, The Lord of The Rings.
And top of the list of disappointing endings (by a huge margin) is, The Divergent Trilogy.

The Discworld series wasn’t included? What about the Earthsea Chronicles?
What about The Chronicles of Narnia? Or Lloyd Alexander’s Prydain series? And the superb Lymond series by Dorothy Dunnett? I also like the Agent Pendergast series.
Black Dagger Brotherhood should be on the list as one of the best. I didn’t find the Sookie Stackhouse series disapppointing. Love it!
