In 2017, World Book Day celebrates its 20th year and there are lots of fun events planned as always, and one of the ways World Book Day is celebrating is by teaming up with National Book Tokens to launch a children’s illustration competition.
The competition ‘Oodles of Doodles’ launches on Monday 9th January and children and teenagers are invited to design a new National Book Token to celebrate the 20th anniversary of World Book Day. The competition is open until 14th April and entrants are asked to send their submissions to the address at the bottom of the page.
Entrants will be split into three categories, 8 years and under, 9-12 years and 13-16 years and there will be a prize for each category of £200 of National Book Tokens for the winner, plus £200 for their teachers and a further £500 for the school.
From the three winning entries, one overall winner will then be selected to have their design turned into a book token for National Book Tokens. The winning entry will also appear in an online gallery alongside the world of famous illustrators such as Chris Riddel!
