Elton John is an English singer, pianist and composer, although these days he’s retired from touring and is more likely to be found playing dad to his two children with his husband David Furnish. Maybe it’s this that has him wanting to read bedtime stories as it’s just been announced that he’ll be one of the celebrity readers on CBeebies Book at Bedtime next week.
The Book at Bedtime slot on the CBeebies channel is the last slot of the day on the channel aimed at small children. At 6:50pm every day, someone sits and reads a bedtime story and the slot has received plenty of celebrity attention. Over the years many well known actors and celebrities have filled the slot, including Tom Hardy who proved particularly popular with mums (we can’t imagine why!).
Now it’s the turn of Elton John in what we believe will be his first skit on the show. Elton will be reading The Dog Detectives: Lost in London on 3rdMay in what is likely to be one of the most popular book at bedtimes ever!
Those in the UK can tune into CBeebies in the usual way, and hopefully for those abroad they’ll be able to catch up online after the show.
