“Not Just a Princess is excited to launch 6 books in our series on Kickstarter. The books are designed to inspire young girls to be what ever they want to be. Little girls for too long have had very few strong female role models in literature and we are trying to fill that gap.
Our stories follow Jade, an audacious pilot who flies around in her airplanes and helicopters to help others out. These Princesses don’t need to be saved by a prince. They save themselves, with a little help from their friends.

Not Just a Princess began as a daddy-daughter project, started by one father who desperately wanted to spend time with his little one and give her more than the tired stereotypes that were available.
After being told his daughter was ‘beautiful’ and ‘sweet’ more often than ‘smart’ or ‘brave’, this great dad decided to do more to promote strength in femininity. His decision was to not dismiss the pretty princess image altogether, but rather incorporate other attributes to make girls realise they can be more than just a princess. Being sweet and enjoying pretty things is not a bad thing- however there is more to life than waiting for a prince. This father-daughter team are bringing us new, fantastic stories about creative, brave, and fabulous princesses from all around the world.
The new 6 stories will cover stories about a range of professions from a diverse bunch of female characters, including scientists, pilots, and mechanics.
