Hamlet is one of Shakespeare’s most popular, and most dark tragedies, since its first staging in 1603. Its enduring popularity has meant that a host of famous faces has graced the stage and screen, playing the fated prince. The 20th and 21st centuries has seen wonderful actors giving life to the play, from Sir Ian McKellen to Jude Law, from Christopher Walken to Michael Sheen, and many besides.
There is one, in my opinion, who captured him like no other… David Tennant, in a 2009 BBC rendition of the play.
