Shakespeare rewritten in Emojis

By August 27, 2015July 16th, 2018Literature

Graphic designer Jamie Rector has recreated a series of Shakespeare plays in emojis as book covers in the hope of reaching out to a younger audience. The design student is hoping that while youngster may not feel that Shakespeare really speaks to them, by presenting the stories as emojis, they’ll feel more connected to the stories, making them more appealing.

There’s no doubting emojis are certainly current, the word was added to the Oxford English dictionary this year and in some cases it seems they are replacing speech and tone in written text across social media and networking sites.

Take a look at the designs below and let us know what you think!
