With modern day printing techniques the making of a book is now something that happens at great speed and is predominantly automated. However as this rather gorgeous video from Encyclopaedia Britannica films in collaboration with The Library of Congress making a book as it was done in 1947 was a far more labour intensive and much more fascinating thing to observe.
I was amazed at just how many separate stages are undertaken before a single page is printed, let alone what it takes to get the finished product, I hope you enjoy the video as much as I did. I am off to watch it again.
