Hugh Laurie Working on an Agatha Christie TV Adaptation

British actor Hugh Laurie is no stranger to working on adaptations of famous books. He made a name for himself playing the simple minded Wooster in the TV adaptation of P.G. Woodhouse’s Jeeves and Wooster, and more recently he appeared in the Hulu adaptation of Joseph Heller’s Catch-22. It has now been reported that he’s currently working on a project based on Agatha Christie’s books for the BBC.

As Variety reports, exactly which Agatha Christie novel he’ll be adaptation remains to be announced, and it may be something more inspired by her work rather than a direct adaptation. The project is being developed by ITV owned producer Mammoth Screen and the show is set to be aired on the BBC.

Mammoth previously worked on a number of book adaptations, including Agatha Christie’s The Pale Horse and, one of her most famous novels, And Then There Were None. It has not been confirmed as to whether or not Laurie will star in the series, but no doubt many fans would like to see him make an appearance.

A release window for the project is yet to be confirmed, but no doubt we’ll hear more about the series over the coming months.
